In the '60 vineyards were not so popular, which is why Borgo Moncalvo mostly handled hazelnuts and wheat.
Pierluigi started by bottling wines that were mostly sold loose to relatives and friends, in small quantities
and by enlarging a bit the range of offered wines, going from the existing Barbera D’Asti D.O.C. and Dolcetto D’Asti D.O.C.
to wines such as Moscato D’Asti D.O.C.G. in 1988, late harvest Loazzolo D.O.C. in 1992,
our niche product, Brachetto D’Acqui D.O.C.G. in 1997,
Piemonte Cortese D.O.C. in 1999 and lately Alta Langa DOCG.
